Our mission is remarkably simple. We proclaim freedom through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help equip the church to do likewise.
In practice, the mission is a lot more complex. The freedom we proclaim is to those that the mainstream church has difficulty reaching. Porn and sex addicts, men, the mentally ill, subcultures, and more are our mission field.
Jesus’ Outsider Ministries tackles the subjects that the most churches avoid. As outsiders, we can discuss topics that sitting pastors may not feel comfortable discussing.
Our mission is to bring these challenging subjects and more to the Body of Christ at large. We want to see people set free from the bondage of sin and from the stigmas of being outside of what society considers normal. Our central scripture is Isaiah 61:1-3 focusing on “binding up the broken hearted, setting the captives free, and proclaiming liberty to those in prison.”
The Gospel is central to our mission. Everything we do, whether the podcast, media, books, or conferences points to Christ. Without Jesus, we are nothing. Apart from Him, we can do nothing.
Starting in January of 2016, Jesus’ Outsider Ministries expanded beyond our original scope of media ministry into speaking, conferences, and evangelism. Members of our team are available to come to your city to speak on a variety of much needed and often ignored subjects. Our areas of expertise include:
If you’re not sure, just ask. There’s more information on the Conference page.
We also put on our own conferences. The first happened on June 25th, 2016 with a follow up conference for leaders in May of 2019. We are tackled one of the most dangerous cancers to affect the church and the nation, pornography and its effects. Now that we are in Nashville, we intend on prayerfully considering another conference of the same type for Middle Tennessee.
Since we are experienced event planners and organizers from other occupations, we are more than willing to help you put together seminars in your community. We can help you train your volunteers including the prayer team, merchandise table, tickets, ushers, and everyone else needed for a successful event.
Through our association with KMMG, we also have the privilege of speaking at conferences and music festivals including the Audiofeed Music Festival held each Fourth of July weekend in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Jesus' Outsider, along with the other ministries of KMMG, are available for other Christian festivals as speakers and advisors. One of our partner ministries, The Asylum, organizes one of the tents at the festival.
What does that really mean? All too often, traditional Christian religion has created boxes that we as believers are often forced into either by the church or from outside. These boxes put limitations on our perception of God and what He will do and how He will do it. The truth is, we serve a God without limitations. If we are to fulfill the Great Commission, we must get outside the boxes we find ourselves in and discover the fullness of God and the love He demonstrated through His Son.
Sometimes, that means breaking some man-made rules or ignoring conventions. Musical style, dress code, and, above all, be willing to go where the unchurched are rather than waiting for them to come to us. What it doesn’t mean, however, is compromising on one letter of the Word of God. The box may be a cage but the Gospel breaks all boundaries. To truly be in Christ means to be out of the box.
